I'm Nikita, Nick to most people, and I built Clottr because I was annoyed every time I opened my wardrobe or had to buy clothes. Those two problems seem unrelated, but they share a cause: a lack of information. How are you supposed to know whether to buy something if you cannot see everything you already own, or how it will look on you before it arrives?
I'm an engineer, so I treat a wardrobe as a system: not a pile of individual pieces, but a network where the right combinations create dozens of outfits. That is why Clottr's styling runs on explainable rules rather than an AI black box, and with a background in technology and sustainability, my focus since day one has been to help people buy less and waste less.
Clottr started as a tool I built for myself and my girlfriend, after every virtual try-on on the market turned out to be a janky AR filter that looked nothing like real life. A simple version of it immediately changed how she shopped, and it grew from there into the app it is today.
Today it is operated by NOVSI IT Ltd, a company I registered in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2025.
We are an independent, founder-led team in the early days, building in the open and shipping quickly. When you reach out, you are talking to the people who actually make the product.
What Clottr does
Clottr is one app for the whole loop of getting dressed and shopping well: see it on you, plan it from what you own, and vet anything before you buy. These are the core tools.
Virtual Try-On
Photograph a piece, paste a product link, or pull from your wishlist, and Clottr renders it onto your own saved photo in high quality, with real fabric drape and your own face. You see how something actually looks on your body before you spend a cent, so far fewer purchases end in a return or regret.
AI Outfit Planner
Every outfit Clottr builds passes through a seven-dimension rules engine that checks color harmony, proportion, formality, and more, so it suggests looks that genuinely work instead of guessing. You get a complete, weather- and calendar-aware outfit from clothes you already own, and get dressed in under a minute.
Should I Buy
Paste a link or snap a photo and Clottr compares the item against your entire wardrobe, flags near-duplicates, and projects its cost-per-wear before you buy. You get an honest verdict in plain English, so you only spend on pieces you will actually reach for.
Digital Wardrobe
Snap or import your clothes and Clottr catalogs them automatically with AI tagging and background removal. Your closet becomes searchable and legible, which is what makes try-on, planning, and buy-checks possible in the first place.
Wardrobe Insights
Clottr reads your closet back to you: palette shifts, most and least worn, cost-per-wear, and the pieces you have forgotten. You learn what you actually wear, which quietly nudges you toward buying less and wearing more of what you own.
Browser Extension
The Clottr extension lives on any product page, so one click tries the item on you and stamps it with a Should I Buy verdict without leaving the site. We never take retailer commission, so it is built to tell you when to skip a purchase, not to push one.

It works on your body, anywhere you shop
Amazon's try-on is limited to Amazon's catalog and Google's lives inside Google Shopping, and both often show a model close to your size rather than you. Clottr renders any garment, from any store or your own closet, onto your own selfie and keeps your face, and its browser extension works on any retailer's product page.
It tells you when NOT to buy
StitchFix's business depends on you keeping the box, and most shopping extensions earn a commission on every purchase they push. Clottr takes no retailer commission, and its Should I Buy check actively flags duplicates and high cost-per-wear, so it can tell you to skip something you would regret.
It styles what you already own, with no box and no styling fee
StitchFix mails you new clothes for a styling fee and leaves you to return whatever does not work. Clottr has a free tier and builds outfits from the wardrobe you already have, only suggesting a purchase when there is a genuine gap to fill.
The outfit engine is explainable, not a guess
Whering leaves outfit-building largely manual and Indyx is styling-forward, while many AI stylists simply hallucinate a look. Clottr scores every outfit against seven designer-derived rules, including color harmony, formality, and proportion, so results are consistent and you can see why a look works.

We started Clottr because getting dressed and buying clothes are both broken by the same thing: a lack of information. You cannot decide whether to buy something if you cannot see everything you already own, and you cannot buy online with any confidence if you cannot see it on your own body first.

Fashion is one of the most wasteful industries on the planet, and a huge share of that waste is clothing that is bought and barely worn. Is my photo and wardrobe data private?
Your profile and photos belong to you, and you can edit or delete them at any time. You can read exactly how your data is handled in our Privacy Policy, and because we take no retailer commission, the product is built around your interests rather than a store's.
How is Clottr different from Whering or StitchFix?
Whering catalogs your closet but leaves try-on and outfit-building largely to you, and StitchFix mails you new clothes for a styling fee. Clottr adds photorealistic try-on on your own body, an explainable outfit engine, and a buy-check, and it styles what you already own instead of selling you a box.
Is Clottr on iOS and Android?
